Anti Dumping Duty Update

The Trade Directorate of the EU published their report on Anti-Dumping Duty (ADD) on Monday. The 80 page document summarised the research done and concluded that their recommendation be that ADD is continued for a further fifteen months (after January 2010).

Interested parties now have up to November 3rd to comment on these thoughts.   The process thereafter will be a meeting of the Anti-Dumping Committee of the EU on October 22, the actual decision making meeting for Member States to be either November 10th or more likely November 19th.

Leaving aside the merits or otherwise of the Report and whether any of the research is flawed, over-selective or has been glossed over, we understand that there is still a small majority of member states  - very much including the UK  - that opposes the continuation of the measures.

So that the BFA can consider what our response to the consultation process should be, I would welcome your comments. If you need a copy of the Report, please let me know.
