Anti Dumping Duty

The long expected vote has happened.

The news from the Commission is 15 votes against extension, 10 in favour and 2 abstained. Thus, if the Commission respects Member States’ views the duties should end.  Our message is that Member States having carefully considered the facts and despite considerable pressure from the European Commission have arrived at a common sense and democratic decision. We look to the Commission to handle any further debate on this issue in an even handed and objective manner.

It’s now up to the Commission to decide whether it wants to push the issue further up the political tree.  At the present moment the Commission has not given its official formal confirmation, they say that the decision will be communicated on December 22nd.  We will update as this unfolds.
