Parental Leave

From 10 January 2002 changes to the rules dealing with parental leave came into force, in that: · Parents of children born or placed with them for adoption between 15 December 1994 and 14 December 1999 have the right to take parental leave in respect of their children · These parents have a period of just over three years to take leave from the point that the new regulation came into force · Parental leave for parents of disabled children is increased from 13 to 18 weeks
